Community Initiative

Every project organized in support of JEVI, whether small or large, directly contributes to suicide prevention in our region.

Getting involved for our community

Community initiatives play an essential role in JEVI’s mission. As government funding covers on average only 51% of the resources required to maintain our services, every project organized in support of JEVI, small or large, directly helps support suicide prevention in our region. The involvement of community members, groups, businesses, and students is therefore an indispensable contribution.

To support those who wish to get involved, we provide several tools: a guide titled Fundraising from A to Z to help you get your initiative started, our policies governing projects supported by JEVI, and an official form to be completed so that your initiative can be approved by a member of our team.

People committed to the cause

Each year, many people choose to get involved in suicide prevention by organizing fundraising activities for JEVI.
Here are a few examples :

BMR Anctil

BMR Anctil chose to produce T-shirts featuring the company's branding and sell them for $10, donating 100 % of the proceeds to JEVI. Thanks to this initiative, a total of $3,335 was raised.

Pascal Fournier

Pascal Fournier, an amateur videographer, undertook a solo motorcycle journey across the continent to raise awareness about suicide and mental health. More than 16,000 km were traveled from Newfoundland to Alaska, and over $13,000 was raised.

Quille-O-Don

For the past 11 years, Bruno Signori and the Starship O'Bready club have organized a Quille-O-Don in support of JEVI. In 2024, thanks to their mobilization, this initiative raised $1,450.
