Since its official founding in 1986, JEVI has developed and kept its position as a leader in suicide prevention.

1984: Start of the school-based Suicide Prevention project
1986:
1990: JEVI Summit – with participation from 2,000 youth representing 212 schools
1993: Second Executive Director: Louise Lévesque
1994: Bertrand Bibeau was elected Chair of the Board of Directors
1995: Chantal Chrétien became Chair of the Board of Directors
1997:
1998: Change of corporate name: our name became JEVI Prévention du suicide chez les jeunes
1999: 15th anniversary of JEVI Prévention du suicide chez les jeunes
2000: Official recognition of JEVI as a suicide prevention centre in the Eastern Townships by the Régie Régionale de la Santé et des Services Sociaux de l’Estrie
2001: Change of corporate name: we are now JEVI Suicide Prevention Centre – Eastern Townships
2008: Jean Verlez became Chair of the Board of Directors
2011:
2015: JEVI was a founding member of the Regroupement des Centres de prévention du suicide du Québec (RCPSQ)
2016:
2017: Michel Thibault was elected Chair of the Board of Directors
2018: 3rd Executive Director: Tania Boilar
2020: Yan Perreault became Chair of the Board of Directors again
2022: JEVI changed to in-person interventions
2024: JEVI revised its corporate image and adopted a new logo
