I’m grieving

The suicide of a loved one is a terrifying event, at any age. Since grief of this kind involves difficult times and very special circumstances, people going through this can benefit from asking for support. That’s why JEVI provides services to all age groups: children, teenagers, and adults.

How to request services

JEVI’s local phone number (819 564-1354) is the main gateway to our services. Leave us a message with your name and contact information. We will return your call within 72 working hours, assess your needs, and guide you to the best service at JEVI, or elsewhere.

In-person interventions

In-person follow-up with an accredited counsellor, accessible based on certain criteria. There is always an assessment appointment before individual appointments so we can clearly identify needs and determine the most appropriate intervention plan. Individual follow-up is voluntary.

Support group

Support group for people grieving a death by suicide

The group’s main goal is to break the isolation of people grieving a suicide by providing somewhere for them to talk about their experience with other bereaved people. The support group offers a structured approach, supported by professional assistance. The focus is on group members’ strengths, as a way of improving the support offered and keeping participants company during their journey.

Postvention service

When there is a death by suicide, or sometimes a suicide attempt, JEVI counsellors can travel quickly to support people going through this difficult time. This service is for families, workplaces, and schools and may include both individual and group in-person interventions.
