The more that counsellors from different backgrounds know about suicide prevention, the better they will be at quickly identifying a person having suicidal ideas. Then we can work together to prevent deaths.

Training based on the latest research- and practice-based knowledge! This training workshop is accredited by SOFÉDUC (Society for Continuing Education and Training) and recognized by the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec and the Ordre des psychologues du Québec. Participants will develop specific skills for providing a complete, suitable response to a suicidal person. Different effective teaching strategies are used for skill development.

This training workshop is intended for individuals with a professional responsibility for suicide prevention. Counsellors must work with clients aged 14 and over and provide full interventions and follow-up with the suicidal person to work on ambivalence.

This training workshop presents the everyday language used in the Best Practices for Responding to a Suicidal Person training workshop, while considering the specific reality of vulnerable teenage clients aged 14-18.

This training workshop is intended for individuals with a professional responsibility for suicide prevention. They must work with clients aged 14 to 18 and provide full interventions and follow-up with the suicidal person in order to work on ambivalence.

In this continuing training, counsellors review the intervention structure presented initially and consolidate the learnings using clinical vignettes from their current practice. In this workshop, participants can ask questions and clarify issues. Participants can take this workshop 6 months after the accredited 21-hour training workshop.

This workshop is intended for counsellors who have already participated in one of the versions of the Best Practices for Responding to a Suicidal Person workshop.

In keeping with Best Practices for Responding to a Suicidal Person, this workshop helps counsellors identify individuals vulnerable to suicide so they can make an informed decision before establishing appropriate protection measures while waiting for a full intervention, if applicable.

Their workplace must be able to provide required protection measures while waiting for an assessment of the danger of the individual dying by suicide.

This training workshop is a version of the Identifying Individuals Vulnerable to Suicide and Enforcing Required Protection Measures workshop. It is intended more specifically for people who work closely with seniors but are not responsible for assessing the danger of individuals dying by suicide.

This program is intended for schools or principals (high school, college, university), workplaces, or everyday facilities (youth or community centre, etc.) wishing to prepare for, respond appropriately to, and limit the impacts of a suicide.

The purpose of this training workshop is to develop specific skills for carrying out a complete intervention for children aged 13 and under who are at risk of suicide, and their network. Counsellors will be able to understand suicide in children, adopt an appropriate response to children aged 5–13 at risk of suicide, apply the three cross-cutting dimensions to an intervention with this age group, identify manifestations associated with suicide in children aged 5–13 at risk of suicide and apply a best-practice-based clinical process.
